Trends come and go in fashion at least every season and oftentimes even more than that. A look will show up on the runway and then start to trickle down into high-end and then mass-market stores until it seems like everyone has it on. And while you of course don't want to be a slave to trends, it's fun to see what will be all over Instagram in the coming season. Plus, sometimes a trend keeps going, whether you want it to or not. (Chokers, anyone?) One look that has stayed around is the "normcore" trend, where minimalist, simple style reigns — especially when it comes to footwear. But according to one shoe buyer, we should all give these simple accessories a rest soon.

Who What Wear spoke to the team at mytheresa.com, an online shop for designer fashion. They said it's all about being bold next season, for Fall 2017.

"Buy anything but basic!," they said."Forget adjectives like plain, minimalistic, normcore. The clothing trend of a 'working girl' in men's jackets and boyfriend jeans should balance her inner shiny goddess with a pair of spectacular shoes."

Does that mean to have to get a whole new wardrobe? Of course not. But maybe swap out a pair of nude pumps for a metallic instead. Give your black ballet flats a rest for millennial pink loafers. It's all about having fun with your style and not taking things too seriously. Mytheresa.com buyers choose footwear from Céline and The Row. "These brands do not make any mistakes," they told Who What Wear. "Their DNAs were programmed to offer perfect shoes every single season."

In case these brands are a bit outside your budget (same), we love Zara, Sam Edelman, and Topshop for more wallet-friendly finds. Happy shopping.
